The Finnish Society for Music Therapy organizes 1-2 seminars every year, as well as other trainings related to the music therapist profession. Membership discounts apply.
The professional degree of music therapist can be obtained by studying at the Roiha Institute in Jyväskylä or Tampere. In order to complete the degree, basic and subject studies of music therapy completed at an open university, as well as basic studies of psychology, are also required. Most of the training is in Finnish.
Further and supplementary training
The University of Jyväskylä offers master’s and postgraduate (doctoral) studies in music therapy. Additionally, music therapists are offered various supplementary and method trainings, which the association will inform members about according to the agreement.
